How we count votes
What the scorecards measure, where the data comes from, and what they leave out.

Votes come from the official Idaho Legislature roll-call record, collected through the Open States project, which publishes legislative data for all 50 states. Republican Idaho refreshes the data nightly.
What counts
Each recorded floor vote in a legislator's chamber during the 2026 session counts once. A vote is yes, no, or absent (absent, excused, or not voting). Committee votes and voice votes are not recorded roll calls and are not counted.
What the numbers do not say
A scorecard shows outcomes, not reasons. Absences are often excused for illness or legislative business, and a no vote on a bill can come from either side. Each profile links to the official record so readers can check the underlying votes.
Corrections
If a number looks wrong, use the contact form. Corrections are made in the data and show on every page that uses it.
